CBI case against Airline CEO


MUMBAI: Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandez has given a stiff shock to the CBI. CBI filed a case against others including Fernandez alleging violation of rules in international flying licenses. Fernandez’s government employees have been given compensation for this. CEO of SNR Trading Director of Singapore Rajendra Dubey, Air Asia Director R Venkatraman, Airport Consultant Deepak Talwar and other government employees have been named in the CBI FIR. Seven cases were reported in six locations in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, CBI officials said.


The CBI officials said that the rules of the International Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) were violated in the license procedure for international airlines. Air Asia directors have violated terms for relaxation of 5/20 rules in the aviation sector. 5/20 The rule is that a firm has five years of experience and 20 aircraft. Only then will be eligible for international license.
