CM Mamta Fire on the Governor's letter
Kolkata: Bengal Governor Kesarinath Tripathi's letter to universities in
the state has led to a controversy between the ruling party and the governor.
All universities in the state have written to Governor Vice Chancellors of
Tripura University to conduct the Yoga Day for this year's 21st Anniversary to undertake International Yoga Day. The ruling of the governor was criticized by Trunamool.
State Education Minister Pardha Chatterjee said: 'Universities should
come from the Union Ministry of Human Resources. Letters have the power to
write. Governors do not interfere with universities in the state. Doing so does
not abuse power. Mamata Banerjee has arranged all the arrangements to organize
Yoga Day. “The TNCC alleges that the Governor is dealing with the jurisdiction of the jurisdiction. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all universities in the country on the eve of Yoga Day.
